24-week Belly

New toys

Here is daddy working on what will probably the first of many assembly projects to come. This is our stroller and carseat. It's a good thing he likes projects like this!

The finished product!

Jeremy wanted an action shot of me pushing the new stroller, but he kept telling me to slow down until finally I was barely walking at all. That's why I'm laughing.

Now we have a carseat so at least we'll be able to bring baby home from the hospital. We put a baby doll in it so we didn't look so silly carrying around an empty carseat, but I'm not sure that we accomplished the "not so silly" goal. :)

24 Weeks

We're 24 weeks now! It's been a few weeks since my last post, so what's been happening since then?
  • Baby girl is moving a lot! Now we can see her moving, which I LOVE! I could stare at my belly for hours (if I didn't have anything else to accomplish in the day).
  • Last week I packed away almost all of my remaining non-maternity clothes. As I was trying things on to see if I could still squeeze into them I was a little sad to discover that I am now gaining weight in other areas besides just my belly. It's for a good cause though so I'm trying not to let it bum me out too much. And so far I haven't let it stop me from eating as much as I want! :)
  • My parents bought us a stroller and carseat combo with credit card points that they had, and it arrived on Saturday. I convinced Jeremy that we should assemble it right away to make sure we weren't missing any pieces or anything, so now we have a stroller and carseat sitting in our living room. It's so cute! We put a little baby doll in the carseat to help us envision the real thing. It's crazy to think that, Lord willing, we'll be putting our own little baby in there in a few short months.
  • Last week my nieces were at my house for a night. My sister wanted to feel the baby moving so I laid on the couch for awhile so she could feel. When I got up my niece Hannah (3 yrs old) hopped up on the couch, lifted her shirt and said "You want to feel MY belly?" She's convinced now that she also has a baby in her tummy. But her baby is a boy. So we felt her belly and we asked her what she is going to name her baby. After several minutes of deep thought she proclaimed, "His name is Belle!" Thankfully she did tell me once that her baby isn't going to come out ever, so hopefully she isn't disappointed when our baby comes out and hers doesn't.
  • I have been weaning off of my anti-nausea medicine for the past three weeks and I am currently on day two of no medicine!! I'm so excited about that. I haven't felt the most super today, but my doctor said that's to be expected as my body adjusts to not having it. And although I haven't felt super, I haven't been even close to puking either, so I'd say it's going well. I'm hoping that each day this week just continues to get better and that I won't need to take any more doses. Praise God for that! I know they keep telling me it's perfectly safe for the baby, but still.

Well I do have pictures to post, but I need Jeremy to load them on the computer and I don't know if he'll get to that tonight. I'll hope to get them on here soon so you can see the expanding of the belly. Thanks for your continued prayers!

21-Weeks

We're 21 weeks now! The past two weeks have been super busy for us so it's been awhile since my last post. Jeremy graduated from Bethel Seminary on May 31st so the whole weekend was busy with graduation and partying and visiting with his parents. And it pretty much took me all last week to recover - I tire easily these days.

I'm very much enjoying feeling the baby move. Some days it's busier than others, but I feel it at least a little every day. And the kicks are getting stronger each week too. I'm also still squeezing into many of my non-maternity clothes, but each week I pack away more things that no longer fit.

Today we had our anatomy ultrasound, which was so fun! I was mostly excited for it but also a little bit nervous. This is the ultrasound where they check all the little baby parts to make sure they don't see anything wrong. We're so thankful that everything looked great! There was nothing of concern and our little girl is measuring right on track. That's right, we're having a girl! At least they're ALMOST POSITIVE we're having a girl. We didn't really have a preference, but we're definitely excited for a girl now that we've had some time for it to sink in. I think just knowing what it is makes me feel like I'm more connected to her already. Now we just have to be careful not to go crazy buying cute little girl clothes. :)

Just 19 weeks until baby girl Hermann!
